WHO WE ARE
Our History
2020
Signed on to create and supply a new brand in Australia and New Zealand for the Cartridge Universe group. Cartridge Universe became the fastest growing printer supplies retail chain in Australia, bringing together most of the top performing and respected retailers in the market. More profitable and more competitive than previous groups we have worked with makes for exciting times. Having Australian and New Zealand ownership brings the focus back to local markets and removes the conflicts of interests that come with multinationals and revolving door management and ownership. Cartridge Universe member numbers continue to climb in this challenging post covid lockdown period, while other chains sadly decline or disappear. The group are Dedicated to quality and integrity and work as individual businesses but share ideas, knowledge and buying power.
2012
Purchased Cartridge World Supplies from Cartridge World Australia taking over procurement and distribution of CW Branded products to the Australian Network. Rebuilding confidence and respect for the brand took several years after a lot of damage had been done. Developed a complete new range of CW Branded inkjet cartridges from scratch for the Australian market that was then promoted globally. Quickly restored correct stock levels of Bulk Ink, packaging and CW brand accessories. After those successes, the HQ control of toners was finally relinquished to Advanced but before the toner range could be sorted , HQ was sold to new owners in China who went in a different direction. CW regions were subsiquently sold off and Advanced parted ways with the new local Australian licencee at the end of 2020, however the majority of CW stores that remained in business still purchased from Advanced.
2007
Developed and launched 2 new ranges of inkjet cartridges in addition to the Premium Jet Tec range and launched the Advanced Consumable Technologies name. The ProJet and Platinum ranges gave us 3 price points and quality levels in cartridges to address the entire cartridge market. If you wanted the best quality , we had it with Jet Tec. If you wanted the cheapest price, we had it in Projet and Platinum sat in the middle. Projet and Platinum merged in 2011 to become todays more uniform ECO Advanced range. ECO became the standard range and ECO Gold Line took over from Jet Tec branding as Australia’s top quality alternative cartridge to the original brand. High quality at competitive prices and at the same time giving stores some exclusivity and differential.
1999
Jet Tec Australia formed to distribute Australia’s first high quality aftermarket inkjet cartridges imported from England. National accounts included Apple stores natioanlly, Pro Photographic retailers and the Cartridge World network, these retailers demanded products of the same standard as the original brands but with the ability to offer real customer savings on printing costs. Desktop and wide format paper rolls were soon added, along with Fax Ribbons, Bulk Ink for refilling , Toner cartridges, refilling accessories and equipment to recycle cartridges and give them a new life other than landfill at the tip. To this day the business is still recognised as the quality and integirty leader. All built on the foundations of searching for the best quality alternatives and honesty in testing and caring for customers.
1981
1981 – 1989 Sales, Marketing, Distribution and Production of traditional Photographic products. 1989 saw the introduction of early digital products and over the next few years digital image quality increased dramatically. At the time traditional photographic imaging industry opinion was that Digital imaging would never rival traditional photographic image quality. Launching the first 1 Mega Pixal digital camera in Australia that retailed for over $6000 was an exiting and ground breaking time and around the same period exclusively launched Motorola’s the first 56K modem. Scanners, data projectors, and imaging software were all added to the range, ending with the introduction of the first coated inkjet papers. Cartridges were soon to follow and due to their success, became our main business.
